26/03/2008 was a significant day in the lives(and calendars) of mankind when the TRM year 2 batch stepped onto the SuperStar Virgo! For many of us, IT WAS OUR VERY FIRST TIME ON THE CRUISE SHIP! OH MY GOODNESS! We boarded the ship with very very excited hearts, and all of us were so crazy, we even ran along the corridor that led us to the ship. :D We also had the chance to take pictures with various mascots before boarding, but they make us pay for it(literally) if we wanted the photos. OF COURSE we didn't buy those photos, we just used our handphones and took pictures of the pictures. :D
Anyway, upon boarding, we were given a tour around the ship by this really pretty girl called April. We were shown the decks of the ship, the various amenities and facilities that were available to us, and we went to wave to the ship captains. There was actually a viewing room where you can see the captains as they meddle with the controls and all. We learnt that to differentiate the front deck and the "backside" of the cruise ship, we can look at the colour of the carpeting. Well... I can't remember which colour represents which direction, maybe you can go find out when you go on your VERY OWN cruise trip! :)
The safety drill when we got on board! We were shown how to open the life jackets and all, but nobody was paying attention. :(It was already night time when we boarded the ship, so we didnt have much time to really walk around and all. We had our first supper at the Mediterranean, which is a buffet-style restaurant which is free for all. There are various other restaurants in the ship, and you have to pay additional charges when you dine at some of these restaurants.
Our very first meal on board!

The view from our seats was spectacular, with the breeze and all. It was heaven on earth. :D
At 3am in the morning, WE WENT FOR A KARAOKE SESSION! It was $60 for an hour, with drinks and snacks. About $10 per person.. Quite ex, but the experience is one of a kind. The pictures decorating the room were quite orbid orpiang with pictures of like Andy Lau 20 years ago and some unknown stars who have probably left the entertainment scene. The songs were quite new though, so we didn't have any complaints against that. Heh heh.
Look at the photo on the wall.
Cosy room for 5 or more.
The cruise trip is not just about fun and games and running wildly against the wind on the top deck, there were also lectures and lessons. We had tutorial questions to answer and various lectures to attend to know more about the workings behind the scenes.
yay lesson time.
One of the most extravagant meals we had on board the ship was the one at Bella Vista, where we had to wear formal and enjoy fine-dining. We looked quite out of place because there were many other people just wearing a tee and jeans, but there were 70 plus of us wearing formal together, so it was okay.

The food at Bella Vista! Tempted? :D
We had LOADS of fun for this trip, and we learnt a lot too, through the lectures and the tour around the kitchens of the restaurants. We could not stop raving about the cruise trip, and we have decided that we WANT to go on SuperStar Virgo again. Yeahhhhh. Before I end this entry off, here's the ONLY photo which I bought from the cruise out of all the photos with the mascots.
YEAHHHHH. That's all. Long entry eh?
